The adventure started much earlier with a young man and his wife beginning a life and a family together. Mom & Dad (Dolores & Bill Loder) had been in the seafood business since early after their marriage in 1954 in New Jersey just outside of Philadelphia. They sold blue crabs on the side of the road. had a small seafood restaurant and loved traveling to the Jersey Shore, Delaware and Maryland to get fresh product to sell to the public who enjoyed their way of serving fresh seafood. Eventually they moved to Madeira Beach, Florida in 1968. It was back to the same stuff except they fished, clammed, hauled seafood around the state, sold crabs on the side of the road and finally opened a small restaurant in 1975 called Captain Bills Beach Kitchen. Mom cooked, (and she knew how to cook so well) dad shucked clams, oysters etc. and the kids helped out where ever they could. As the kids married another family memeber joined the team. Several locations, lots of boats, crab traps, and refrigerated trucks later we ended up here in beautiful Indian Rocks Beach. We sold the Captain Bills name and location in 1982 so we needed a new name to open our family business with. Eleanor said "Dad's crabby, we like crabs, why not Crabby Bill's?", and history was made.
